Best M/Board for a Intel Duo 2 6600?

As the title says, Im getting a 6600 and want the best board for it - any suggestions?

Sorry, gaming will be it's primary purpose. I will not be OC'ing! Don't need any fancy add-ons or onboard sound.

Have not decided on a GFX card yet but want to go ATI for a change.

So: Duo 2 6600, Prob ATI GFX (PCI express- one card)

Best Moboard for this combo? Have heard good things of ASUS, but that's from 2006 reviews.

Yep to the abit or an ASUS P5b deluxe, i've got an Asus P5WDH deluxe and its got wifi (usefull) and a remote control which i dont use so with hindsight i paid more for extra's i dont use !!

That IB9 is suppose to be a decent board, If I were you I would look at getting a Asus P5B or Abit AB9.

Gigabyte DS3 if you only intend on having one gfx card. plus it give you the option of overclocking if you change your mind in the future. I had one before I got my EVGA680i and the DS3 is absolutely brilliant for the price.

I also will recommend the DS3 boards. For the price, you've got yourself and nice overclockers board. With everything you'll need.

If it's just for running at stock with a single graphics card...Asrock CONROE945G-DVI

Comes with onboard graphics, but they're easily disabled.

Go with the Gigabyte 965p DS3. Have had mine for 2 weeks now paired up with a e6600 and a Zantec cooler and have the 6600 @ 3.5ghz running nice and cool. No problems with this board at all, nice features and nice layout.

Only one thing I would say is that none of the utilities that you get bundled work with Vista!

My bro has just bought a DS3P and hes really impressed with it, very stable and excellent overclocker. Another vote for that over here

Another vote for the ds3p, got myself a rev2.0 and is a nice tidy mobo, have had no probs with it but haven't overclocked it yet as I don't have a decent CPU or RAM at the mo.

AW9D-Max here.......i did my homework and it seems to have many less issues than practically all of its competitors in the same price range.

another one for the ds3 here, had mine for 6 months and had no problems with it, very stable, even with some OCing and its a pretty good price for what your getting
