Get the corsair from here £65 delivered, much better than the hiper and probably only a fiver more when you factor in the postage.

Im going to fill the swearbox now

    Fixed
You RMA a hell of a lot of parts you buy dont you

Is there something you arent telling us because surely 1 person cant be this unlucky.

Also, as has happened previously, ASUS have absolutely NO IDEA how to make a board have good compatibility.
They swore until they were blue that the Antec NeoHe range were poor units and thats why they would run on alot of ASUS boards.

After all the tests ASUS ate their words and said their boards had incompatibility issues with some PSUs.
ASUS used to be great.......they, as have a few other manufacturers are really losing sight of their customers recently.

I strongly believe that the Enermax Galaxy is the best range of HIGH END PSUs on the market today.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    Im running...

    E6400 @ 3.2Ghz
    Asus P5B-E Plus
    2 Gigs of RAM
    2 x 120mm & 1 x 140mm fan
    Zalman Fan Controller
    2 x Hitachi HD in R0
    1 DVD-RW
    1 Asus 7300GS GFX

All of a Silverstone ST230NF 300w PSU, at time of spec i was thinking of getting a 7900GS - Which the have been well withing the capablilty of the PSU but i didnt due to DX10 Cards coming out.
Your system wouldnt draw much power though.
1 DVD and a weak Graphics Card. Thats not going to use alot at all.

BTW...How do you know the 12V rails are stable? Have you checked them? If so, how?

    Of course...i agree!
The Hiper and Corsair are so far apart in quality that the Hiper shouldnt be on the same page

Play says it will send this special delivery, this is Royal mail I take it? As I defo won't be in when it comes (won't send it to work address) so will have to go to p/office and pick up.

''Get the corsair from here £65'' -Looks like a nice PSU, still overkill imo, but overkill is better than being dissapointed some point in the future!

    Thanks,

I do indeed, but then again, I buy a lot of stuff as well, so I suppose it is to be expected (use the term loosely). The Galaxy DXX will be going back at some point because it has started to beep when shut off by the power switch, and also the power switch is a bit loose. All the other Galaxys up to now have had really solid switches. If they could just get the balance right, of stability and compatibility, and maybe make it a touch quieter, it would be a winner.

personally, i would get a branded psu with at least 600w like the corsair one everyone is/was telling me to get, from what i have read, this will have enough power to support the current high end stuff, like two 8800 in sli and so fourth, so in the near future you do upgrade and get some power hungry stuff you'll be fine. 600w is the minimum i would get.

I agree, your not exactly spending a ton more money to go from say, 300w - 600w,
