    EVGA Step_Up_Program

I spose most of you know about the EVGA Step Up and how you can trade in a card, within 90 days of purchase and upgrade.

Well look at the upgrade i pulled today....

    I have:
    eVGA 8800GTS Superclocked 320mb

    I traded up to:
    eVGA 8800GTX Superclocked 768mb

For an extra 142 Euros ... which is only £96

I only paid £217 for the original card.........

damn, 8800 GTX for just over £300. Seems like EVGA are losing out here, bargain for you!

The only catch is that the card i have must go back to Germany (so wont be cheap to post) but apparently the turnaround time is only 7-10 days.

I just have to wait a fortnight now for their email telling me the date to post it back.

    Hehe
You can just imagine they have a stock room with 10000's of GPUs in there.
No idea though really.........you never see them 2nd user sold anywhere.....maybe they just strip em down.

since shipping will be about £30+..(do you pay shipping both ways?) it's no cheaper than buying one of the cheaper GTX's in the first place anyway. Not to mention as soon as that GTX has been recieved from EVGA your RMA's in future will surely need to be dealt with by them directly not your reseller like scan..so £30+ anytime you need to send something back..

It's a pretty good deal but not fantastic in my eyes..

I have just been to the PO. Tracked Shipping to Germany = £16.45 ..... Not bad really
    A GTX Superclocked for £217 (old card) +£96 (step up price) + £16.45 (shipping) = £329.45 :O
Retail GTX For this card: £440
Saving = £111 (Thats another 2 x 1gb of my memory almost for nothing)

I have to disagree and say thats a fantastic deal.
TBH aswell, RMA to Germany prolly wouldnt be any slower than RMA in the UK anyway in most cases.

Nice. I'm thinking about using the step up to swap my 8800GTX for a 8900 when they are released. What did you have to do to sort it out?

Register your card on their website.
Choose which card you want to step up to.
    Register the Step Up
    They send an email
    Pay on CC the difference
Post card once they give the order

Wait 7 days for new card.

    All done

I have an EVGA 8800GTS, which I bought with the intention of trying out the step up program when the 8900 series hits. I was going to wait for R600/8900 for my next upgrade but my 7950GT had different ideas and keeled over on me.

Gotta remember though, you have to joi the queue for step-up.
Im at Number 9 at the minute so shouldnt be long before i get the 'pay & send' email.

Beauty of that is even im on the waiting list for 4 months, you only have to register to do it within 3 months and not complete the transaction.

So, if eVGA drag their feet i'm not left high and dry.
