Durable cloth mouse mat / pad...

I've currently got a Steelpad QcK and I find it perfect in terms of a nice surface to use my mouse on, however I'm finding the edges have started curling up and fraying a little.

So I was wondering if there were any mats / pads out there that had the same cloth surface but were rigid (encased in plactic or something) so as to keep it perfectly flat?

Don't know of one...
...but as a cheap alternative (therefore not too much of an issue to replace if it does start to curl) we are currently using the white back of foam table protector fabric, cut into squares. It works really well! Only £3.99 / metre or something from places like Fabric Warehouse, so you can get a good few mouse mats cut from that!

Mouse mats and a mouse with a ball are old fashioned, wouldn't go back to them......I'm using an optical mouse, with 5 controls, had it for years with no problem.

Mine's an optical mouse, but still works better on a mat than on the hard, slightly shiny surface of my desk...

Yeah, they seem to vary quite a bit. My desk is fine for an optical mouse but the cursor jumps loads, using it on the coffee table (with laptop btw )

Surely the cursor jumping is nothing to do with the mouse surface. More to do with setup, drivers or hardware. Check mouse properties?

I am using a Logitech MX Revolution on a cloth Razer Mantis pad which is large and smooth and does not wear out my mices feet like the Icemat I was using B4.

Trying mine out now on white A4 paper and it seems to be just what you need........... a bit of drag and mine doesn't jump.

just so it's clear...we use the OTHER side of this stuff...that side is foam....t'other side is fabric and very good for mousage
