    nForce2 Microphone input

    Hiya bloke-ages

    Me and my Soltek Mini Barebones are playing together today thanks to Agent...who fixed it Its a Soundstorm version, so default nVidia driver.

    On the BACK I have 3 mini jacks......clearly front rear and centre/bass

    On the front I have 2 mini jacks.....Mic and another with arrows pointing both in and out.

    In the drivers.....you get the option to choose ALTERNATE Mic (no 2) and when ya do the front Mic works

    So where's No 1? Cos I have tried it in ALL the other plug holes

    And what is the OTHER plug on the front...cos it doesn'tr play through my headphones in the way the one on the back of the unit does...ie Front output set to Headphones.

    I would like VERY MUCH to use my headphones with boom mic WITHOUT unsplicing the cable for over a foot just to use the REAR JACK fopr headphones and the FRONT for Mic....

    EITHER....one of the back ones MUST act as a Mic input , surely....OR the one on the FRONT act as a Headphone Out plug?

    Why not....*strop on temper tantrum imminent *

    Have tried lots of settings in XP Pro and the Soundstorm settings....(they share the same function, cos change one the other changes so thats good) and if ya choose HEADPHONE or 2 SPEAKER you'd HOPE one of the other back jacks would be MIC!

    But I cant make it work.,

    And to be clear.....I KNOW the front one works, cos when you tick the box and plug in a MIC....I can HEAR MY ROTTEN VOICE

    Pls help...OR if you think its NOT possible TELL ME SOON

    Cheers Dudes

    It isn't possible to switch ports round through software with the SoundStorm! I know my Audigy2 you can choose what ports do what but its not possible on the SS, a mic port is a mic port and line level is line level!

    Why are you so desperate to use them the other way round anyways?

    There might be a jumper that needs changing on the motherboard with you having the front audio panel connected. Or, the front panel is connected where the jumper normally goes.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();
