All psu's I've had have come with the power cable, but, if it dosn't, it just a kettle lead so you've prob got a spare one in the house somewhere.
Hello, I just bought one of these and its not short of any cables, thats for sure.
It comes with a 3 pin fan sensor which I cant work out where it goes, any one know ?
The one from the PSU should only have the PWM wire attached to send the information on how fast the fan is spinning - It shouldn't ever cause the risk of damaging anything :)
I don't know the exact voltage, but its very low.
Besides, it would be physically hard to fit a fan header on to anything bar what its designed to go on
Maybe with these modern boards, but I mucked up a build a few years ago doing just this, there was a spare cable, I thought, that can't be right, so plugged it into the only socket it would fit...cue blue flash and smell of burning plastic.
It was my first build though:angst:
What the HELL did you plug it into?
I cant think of one thing that you could have managed to fit in on!
And to get a blue flash.....Just how!?
Na, I don't need help to screw something up. As for what I plugged it into, I don't know (it was a really long time ago)
After I realised it wasn't going to work (the blue flash was a clue), I took it down the range and blew it to pieces, still didn't work, but I felt alot better:)
