What PSU?

Hi,
In a couple of weeks i'll be building my new rig, i've got everything sorted but the power supply.

It will be:

Asus P5B deluxe wi-fi/ap
Core 2 Duo E6600
Seagate barracuda 7200.10 320GB
2 x X1950pro 512mb (native crossfire)
Zalman cnps9700 LED HSF
4 x 120mm sharkoon golf ball fans
4 ccfl
Sata nec dvd rw

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Eww at the crossfire.

Um, corsair 520W? Should last a while as well for future upgrades.

how hungry are the ATi cards? I'd be inclined to go corsair 620w but either will probably do the job.

The P5B doesnt support crossfire officially, with one of the pci-e sockets being only 4x, Im not sure how much this would affect the performance.

If you already have the cards, then fair enough, but there are better single cards for probably less money

or as clunk says get a single card.

If you want to go with ATi then the R600 shouldn't be far off now. Ocuk have one in for testing next week according to them.

If it is a proposed system I would get 1 8800GTX insted of 2x1950. Cossfire and SLI are a waste of money IMO. 1 good card beats 2 not so good cards

e.g 2x7600GT(£70) are beated by 1x7900GS(£90) on most tests.

but for the PSU I would go with the corsair 620WATTS modular

I dont really know much about graphics cards, was working off recommendations, do you have any suggestions as to what would be better?
Only thing is i'd rather have ATI than Nvidia

ATI have nothing that compares to the 8800 series at the moment. Sticking with ATI is utter madness currently
Any reason why you'd prefer ATI ?

Id also probably change the mobo to a QuadGT [although im currently a bit of a fanboy of this board], unless its missing somthing you need.

the main reason for the p5b is the wifi capabilities, and the number of pci-e's.

Clunk, i really want the best i can get for the cash so if the 8800gtx is better who am i to argue?

My system (5 harddrives - 6300 - one poor gfx card) is powered by a Hiper 580W Type-R Modular, which seems to be very nice. Would recommend it.

i get what you are saying with the 8800gtx but i'd be looking at another £100, the x1950pro's are about £136 each.

Anything nearer my price range?
