I am running vista and all I had to do was run TAT as the admin and it worked, same with core temp.
Are you running Vista 64bit and a 680i board?
no, not the 680i part
Ok, so anyone running a 680i and 64bit Vista, what do you use as a temp monitor :D
Fingers? :D
J/K have you tried PC Wizard?
 yeah I had thought of that, but its watercooled, so no heatsink to feel :)
No I havent tried pc wizard, does it definately work with 680i and 64 bit vista?
I would just go and install it, but coretemp made vista have a fit, so Ideally, I'm looking for someone that has both a 680i board and 64bit vista that can vouch for the program :)
I can't say for definite, but it does read from the 680i SMBus, whether it works properly with x64 Vista remains to be seen. Wouldn't hurt to try though, it's a good app overall :)
Thanks,
Just tried it and it doesnt work, the temp doesnt move under load, one core stays at 51 the other at 57c. Cant get rid of it either now. Hmmmm
So, does anyone actually have a 680i board and 64bit vista and have a working temp monitor?
Thanks :)
Maby you the only one who is crazy enoth to have a 680i and 64 bit vista.
The 680i isn't the problem, the problem is lack of x86_64 software for Windows, let alone temp monitoring.
Maybe you could try a 32bit install of something for overclock testing? Maybe a BartPE disk would be in order.
The 680i is the reason that TAT doesnt work, it wouldnt work under xp or vista32 either. Ive still got my xp install on another drive.
To be honest, if I cant get this to work, I'll dump the 64bit idea for now. Everything seems to take much longer than XP, so I'm guessing that is down to poor drivers/compatibility.
:)
NTune...you tried that?
Different mobo i know but all seems just as fast, if not faster here with Vista 64bit.Quote:

Everest works well for me. Version 4.0 has just come out too.
Yepp, Everest works for me (680i), but I don't have Vista, only XP.
I 'managed' to get the newest version of Everest Ultimate last week for Vista...It all work well tbh.
