What is Vdd

I have an ePox motherboard with a Phoenix AwardBios v6.00pg. Until last night everything was great then a system crash - everything went dead! Now when I turn the pc on it stops and says:-

Warning! CPU has been changed or Overclock fail.

I have niether overclocked or changed the CPU which is an AMD 2800+. 2 H/D's 2 DVD's, GFX card, and 1Gb memory are fitted.

The Magic Health shows the Vdd is red at various voltages and sometimes the Vbat goes into the red. Is this likely to be a CPU, PSU, or motherboard problem?

I have tried my old AMD 1800+ but just get a blank screen.

Vdd, im not sure what that could be - RAM Voltage perhaps? (badly spelt Vddr? stabbing in the dark here).

Vbat is, I expect, referring to the battery on the motherboard that keeps the BIOS going while the PC is 'off', have you tried replacing this battery? (of type CR2032 IIRC)

VDD (while I have no clue what it stands for) usually refers to the voltage being supplied to the motherboards chipset.

At a guess the battery in the motherboard has shorted out, try replacing it and clearing your CMOS as per your instructions in the motherboard manual

Vdd is one of the notations used for a positive DC voltage supply, it doesn't relate to any particular voltage - your motherboard manual should tell you the value it should be (posibly might tell you in the BIOS as wel). Definately not a good sign if it's the wrong value and you'll need to just pull parts to eliminate them as almost any componenet could be causing the problem, including the power supply itself.
