Motherboard choice

OK just wanting people's opinions on motherboards. I was pretty set on getting a gigabyte p965-ds3p. After some advice from people I respect I'm now torn between that and the asus P5B-E plus. From reviews they seem to have similar performance so what are people's opinions on them? Anyone have experience of both?

It's up to yourself, I personally prefer Asus boards, I've just had better experiences with them.

Also DFI's 965 Infinity should be appearing anyday.

Hmm, most people seem to be recommending the P5B. Might just go for that one, I looked at the quadgt too but it's a bit more expensive, I'm on a budget.

I think they all are, and theres a few new processors arriving as well.

My budget takes into account the price drops already! I thought the boards I was looking at were pretty good anyway. I spent a fortune on my last mobo and never used half the features so I'm not going overboard this time.

Well AMD have dropped their prices today so there's a good chance that Intel will reciprocate on the 22nd, hopefully

Yeah, it seems likely it will actually happen.... with the 6000+ now only £155 and AMD demo-ing Barcelona on the 23rd it would make perfect sense. But only 11 days to wait and see

To be honest I would too, either that or possibly one of the Asus P5N32-E SLI boards. Heard bad things about other 680i boards but this seems to be doing pretty well for itself.

I hadn't used an Abit before getting the IB9 (was on a tight budget at the time and needed Core 2, I have the Crystal meth of upgrade addictions) and have been very impressed with its stibility considering it spent all of 5 minutes at stock settings

I didn't buy an AB9/AB9 Pro or an AW9D (very nearly did ...) but when the QuadGT was announced I said that's the board for me, got 1 of the first in the UK & so far it's repaid my trust.
