    Mother selection help

    Hi
I'm interested in buying a Pentium IV motherboard with socket 775 but I don't know which model and brand to choose.
I do not want a super motherboard or a very cheap one.
I want it to have SATA with RAID, DDR2 memory and PCI express.

Which brand and models do you recommend me?
    Thank you very much

The Asus P5B-E Plus would do the job. Not too cheap, not overkill either, I plan on getting that board in a few months as it supports Intel's new quad core CPUs and doesn't have any silly heatpipes for me to be worried about mounting upside down. As for CPU, if you're on a budget the Intel E4300 is drool worthy enough without making your creditcard bounce around like a rubber ball. Or of you want to wait a few weeks the Q6600 should be having a significant price drop which will make an affordable option.

The Gigabyte DS3P is comparable to the P5B-plus, also a decent mobo but then I am biased as I have 1 of these

I am off ASUS to be honest - very disappointed in their quality and support. I have just got an Abit AB9 QuadGT to replace my Commando (which will go to a daughter) and have today ordered an Abit IB9 for another built for another daughter - looks a good board at only £56 plus VAT from Scan.

The Abit IB9 looks like a good low cost board - no firewire, but also ITE PATA rather than JMicron....
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.
