Its blatently for the 8600 Range, its about bl00dy time!
If it is the 8600 heres some pricing
It seems that tier 1 distribution has sku'd up a few eVGA 8600 cards.
Based on typical markup, we should see the following cards with the following prices....
* eVGA 8600GS 256MB N751 $179
* eVGA 8600GT 256MB N761 $229
* eVGA 8600GT 256MB N765 $249
**EDIT**
Another new unit has been spotted:
* eVGA 8500GT 256MB N740 $93.00
XFX, BFG, ASus MSI, and Gigabyte 8xxx SKUs are popping up too..
Stay tuned..

Yeah the 8600s.... hope the benches are better than those shown so far....
Not so sure they will 8600GT and GTS is based on 128 memory controller
7900 256 bit memory controller. That'll make a diff.
Its now more worthwhile waiting on ATI's family of DX10 cards to see what they do.
Nice to see that AGP hasn't been forgotten either .

See above link for more nfo.
will this encourage a little drop in the 8800 prices?
Possibly if ATI introduce the X2900XTX at level pricing, but then the 8900GTX is waiting to be released
If ATI/AMD produce aggressive pricing on the top of the range card and retailers provide good pricing and dont take advantage of additional margins then it will be a distinct possibility. Lets hope so
