is my new xp2500 ready for o/c ing????
hi
recently instaled my new mobo, nf7-s and xp2500 and 2 x twinmos 256 pc3200 dimms, and when entering the bios, the part under the first o/c bit says my cpu is 2500, but when i press enter, i can select a 3200 cpu speed.
does this mean that my chip will run at 3200 without me doing ouwt to it???
i can't touch the multiplyer though (as far as i know!)
can i o/c this beauty and what's the best way forward?
hope you all had great crimbo's by the way and wish you all a happy new year!!!! :D

Basically get off the standard settings (2500+ and 3200+) and use the 3rd (user defined)
Then start at 11*200 which is 3200+ speed and start upping the 200 by a couple of points a time.
You'll know if its unlocked if it lets you change the value 11 to anything else(try changing it to 10.5 as a test)
Keep an eye on the temperature (in the PC health section of the bios) and make sure it stays below 60 degrees
Also, the 3200+ speed may require a bit more voltage than 2500+ speed so up it a bit if it doesn't work 1st time. Remember that extra voltage=heat
