LG 19inch monitor

Hi,

Just bought a:
LN17097
19" LG L194WT Silver/Black LCD, 1440x900, 5 ms, 2000:1, 300 cd/m2, Widescreen, VESA

and I seem to be getting a discolouration when i view it from different angles. Grey seems to go yellow.
I wondered if anybody else had experienced this or if it was a known issue with LCD's - I work on LCD's at work and my girlfriend has an LCD all of which don't have this issue. Cheers!

Got it from Scan - know who i return it to? - chucked the box as well

If it was bought recently you'll have to RMA it to scan, dont know what their policy on packaging is though, or what you'll be able to send it in without damaging it. Try giving them a call.

Return(ed) Material Authorization

# Return Materials Authorization is frequently used to refer to all returned product, whether authorized or not. RMA administration typically requires the company receiving the goods to identify the goods, reimburse/replace the person who returned the goods.


28 days you have to return to Scan but you still need an LG authorisation number. Packing can be arranged we will swap the box to return to LG for the new one and send the replacement in the box that you supplied.

I have been slowly collecting bits for my new build from scan for a while now - but haven't tested them as i received them. What happens if i put them in my new system and they are faulty......?

I do the same and it's not a good habit!

AFAIK (as far as I know) Scan will pay carriage to ship item back to them within the first 28 days. After that (within warranty period - usually a year) you pay carriage.

I have a similar LG monitor (at 1280x1024 res). Now that you mention it, whites do go a bit yellowish if you look at a sharp viewing angle, but it is hardly noticeable except at the most extreme angles, and not a problem.

Is your's much worse?

...mine seems to be about 45 degrees, maybe more. It might be like when you get a chip on your tooth and can't help but play with it... maybe its due to the widescreen as well - I've just change from a normal proportion display.
