Does this memory overclock well like other brands

The board I am looking at is

Asus P5N32-E SLI NF680i SLI

but I don't like the sound of the Asus boards and the problems they have

I would like a board that can do 1333 FSB for future CPUs and dual Gig ethernet lan connections, so which board do you ecommend

i have corsair memory...overclocks fine for me

im not too sure about that board though as far as overclocking goes...

it isn't supposed to be great as an overclocker. You're better off with the evga/bfg offerings. With the release of the new bios they are overclocking up to and beyond 500mhz which would be 4.5GHz for an e6600 ..more than enough i'm sure you would agree.

You also get a 10 year warranty with the EVGA

The 680i boards are overpriced rubbish. They are great on paper, but they dont overclock too well and arent stable. Add that to the raft of other problems and its not looking good.

Get a 965 chipset board.


P.S. I have the board you mentioned and it could be ok with some bios updates, but as it stands, its rubbish.

Not that I have tried many other boards, but I'm enjoying my gigabyte DS3 so far.. the latest revision ensures it will be compatible with 1333mhz FSB and a lot of people have overclocked far beyond that with this board. Fairly cheap as well at the moment!

To be honest I was looking at the Abit Quad GT to begin with but I see it only has 1066 FSB and only 1 lan connection.

I suppose I could go for some thing like a gigabyte DS4 but it would have to be a Rev 3 or is there any other boards that would fit ?

I would like it to have 1333fsb for future CPU's and dual lan but I suppose that is not really necessary ?

get the DS3 IMO

the newer DS3 (not ds3p) revisions have 1333fsb (2.0 onwards IIRC)

I plan to sell my P5B dlx to get a DS3 in fact

There have been good reviews of the DS3 but I couldn't buy a gigabyte..just don't trust them

There was a long list of horrors with mine, some of which have been sorted with bios updates, not sure about the physical stuff like flimsy pcb, build quality. Still waiting for an email back from gigabyte from october

Eh my board seems fine, could you possibly list a few more probs so I could pick niggles at my board ?
