barton, abit and ocz overclocking results

I have just finished my second barton 2800+ system here are the results for those of you wondering what to expect.

    system #1
    abit nf7-s rev. 2
ocz pc3200 el dual channel 2*256meg (dual sided modules)
    thermalright sk-7
    artic silver 2
thermaltake smartfan II with thermalprobe mounted under chip
    320W powersupply

    final overclock was
cpu went to 2343mhz with the ram at 426mhz(213mhz)
temps were at around 48deg C

system #2...I went with some changes hoping for a larger
    overclock was hoping for 2400mhz

    abit nf7-s revision 2
ocz pc3500 el dual channel 2*256 (single sided modules)
    thermalright sk800a
    artic silver 2
thermaltake smart fan II with thermal probe mounted under chip
    kingwin 350W powersupply

final overclock is 2310mhz with ram at 440mhz(220mhz)
    temps are 43deg C

Voltages are as follows (same for both) 1.825Vcore, 1.7V northbridge, 2.9Vdimm

These were the results from 2 different chips, those real geeks out there like myself are now wondering what were the steppings...here they are...

system #1 stepping was ...damn cant find it
    system #2 stepping was aquca

now i have a question for those in this forum...
I had used the pc3500 from system 2 in system 1 for 2 days and found i could clock up to 462mhz out of it...now in system 2 i cannot get more than 442 out of it. I know the core will go about 20mhz faster but the ram wont get there, even at low timings...ideas since i am out of northbridge and dimm voltage....what is the difference in systems..i figured that system 2 was better and would get more out of it.....unfortunately it seemed to be a waste of money

Have you tried the chip from #2 in system #1?
Only thing I can think of, atm, is that cpu #2 is limiting things....

Well that or the mem, or the PSU, or the RAM, or the.....

same motherboard? as in THE same one rather than the same model as you've already said.

I cannot put the chip from system 1 into system 2 since i have shipped it to my brother..

However, here is what i have found out, there seems to be some limit with system 2. I can only boot at a highest of 221 at 2-2-3-6 and when I even try 222 at 2.5-3-3-8 it isnt stable. Thus there seems to be a limit either with the motherboard or the ram. The motherboard is revision 2 so it is the same revision. However the bios is different. Has anyone found that the newest bios is worse than earlier editions?
