Reducing noise from graphics card?

Hi, I've just replaced my case and several fans to reduce noise. Now it turned out that the only source of noise is my graphics card, which is a Galaxy 6800 XT (AGP), with a stock Zalman cooler. OK, first, I don't want to replace my graphics card (I do have a Radeon 9200 SE which doesn't have a fan at all). Anybody got any good ideas to cut off this noise? Thanks.

If it has a Zalman cooler, it shouldn't be noisy. Maybe only the fan's busted? Try replacing or oiling it

Or if it's running at full whack and doesn't need to be? Did it come with a fan controller to slow it down? Keep an eye on the temps and see how low you can go....

Or buy one of those great big passive coolers...

Thanks jimbouk. I was just considering those options. However, I haven't found any fan controller for Zalman graphics card so far. Do you know any? And have you got any recommendations on passive coolers?

Hmmm, maybe it's just the Zalman CPU coolers, but I thought they all came with a little black controller like this:

(also available seperately, or at the least one of the resistor cables.

I'm not sure what passive coolers are going to work with the 6800XT, and you'll probably need to crank a near fan up, or add an extra fan to keep it cool enough, so sticking with the Zalman cooler might be the best option.

as already said, the Zalman coolers are very quiet, i would check the fan to see if it is working ok...
also i would check to see if it needs to be cleaned...

otherwise you can always change the cooler to a new improved one....
