Well, here they are then. That XFX OCd one looks appealing...... The same price as an 8800GTS 320MB, with 1/3 of the stream processes and a 128bit memory bus.

They all seem too pricey for what you get, a low end 8800GTS is only about £40 more and appears to be a a lot more powerful. I think they'd make far more sense at, or just under, the £100 mark.

If you got the money for the 8800, then go for that. I have a feeling the 128bit memory bus is going to cripple the card a little.

It's a shame that after all the build up, the cards just don't deliver on their promise. It's basically a 7600GT that works on DirectX 10, without any of the pricing appeal.

Still, that said, it's perfect to fit to my g/f's SLI rig, she'll never know

Theres loads, but they all look pretty bad to me, in a priceing way.

Although it is good that now everyone on all bugets can upgrade or build there pc that is alot more future proofed

i was tempted by one of these before release.... but i dont see the point when they are basically the same as my current card with DX10 :/

might wait for an 8900 or ATi releases.

For the money that there asking on some of there cards it's better to get a 8800 gts 320 card but for around £100 mark they will do as a cheap upgrade ie for vista and dx 10.

Not the most in-depth analysis but if their results are correct, then the prices are about right.

While it may not perform better in every circumstance, as long as it performs everything at least as good as a 7900GT while being the same price as a 7900GT, then its good VFM IMO.

I think some people just set their expectations a little too high. Once it comes down a bit in price it will be a good midrange card, and once the next batch of nvidia cards come out these will be more of a low to midrange card anyway, and in that respect they are more than efficent.
