help: vista os error

no joy on the drivers. (158.18)

what happens is that it doesnt detect any previous drivers and so doesnt do anything abut that it goes straight to the install it installs to halfway, a box fro vista comes up saying "do you want to install this driver, you should only use manafactures yes or no.."

i click continue and it then completes the installation but then when the bar finishes i get a message saying:

"the system has not been modified, to run the installation again at a later time please run the installation again"



going to reseat the card in a mo

i thin that when i uninstall the drivers for the standard VGA device and then restart it decides to reinstall it on ging to windows desktop

Have you got the power cable in the card properly?

yep and the 12v rail on mobo which i thought it may be

Do you have another system you can try it in? maybe a mate with one?

its stress full, i also have alod of exams coming up and hve done nothing because of this this weekend and when i say exams i mean i have an 15hour art one on tursday!!

would getting a 32bit os work, although i dont see why it isnt working on this 64bit vista as it should anyway and i dont want to shell out another £60 odd quid

got it working last nght.

the problem was the chipset drivers in that the mobo cd isnt vista compatable and therefore i had to dwnload off the internet.

the difference i why it worked this time instead of the previous trys is the latest Nvidia drivers installed on the new chipset whereas the CD ones wouldnt

anyway happy gaming for me
