E6400 vs E6420

I cant understand the difference besides the cache.

Also, and the biggest one for me is, why is the E6400 still in general MORE expensive than the E6420 if its the older chip?

Sorry if this deserves an obvious answer but its something im curious about.

My guess is that the E6400 has been phased out and replaced by the E6420, the E6420 has a new low price to be inkeeping with the rest of the price drops and I suppose they didnt bother repricing the E6400 as it wont be coming back in stock.

Im not looking to buy one...I ALREADY OWN the E6400.

So...in your educated and honest opinions, what kind of performance gain, % or otherwise, would someone expect to see between a 6400 and a 6420.

I only ask as if it would be significant, i'll lose the 6400 and get myself a 6700 a bit sharpish.

It would be a guess based on my findings with the e6600 and e4300, but youll only notice a difference in some benchmarks, superpi, and maybe stuff like video encoding, but apart from that, its probably not worth the loss youll take on the E6400.
