Windows Wont Boot
When one problem is fixed another problem comes along, i wonder if this system will ever work
Rite so i build the system everythings running fine. I installwindows ect, all works fine. I then start to install SP2. Half way through the install it crashes.
Then after this when ever i geto the wondows loading screen when i boot the computer up it freezes then blue screens and i get the stop message
(0xF7C7A63C, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
I have no idea what the issue can be. The message points the issue to be a hhd problem but they are brand new drives i cant see an issue there.
I ve tried updating the bios on my asus pn5-e sli board but it wont let me do it for some strange reasson :S
Anyone ever come across this problem before ?
Any help would be great !
Thanks

Was this whilst you had the system overclocked? Is it now running stock? Have you checked the RAM using MemTest86+? What's the exact config of your system?

Updating the bios is easy on that board.
Download the latest bios from here, extract the file to the root of a usb stick.
Restart your PC and enter the bios, go to tools>EZ flash, start ez flash and you will see the contents of your usb stick listed.
Select the bios file that you extracted, tell it to update and then it will update and tell you to restart.
Once you have done that, remember to enter all your ram timings and stuff :)
-
Already tired that, and i had a message saying something like the bios installed was neer (upgraded) from the one i have been trying to install, even when the one im want to install is newer :S
-
What version bios is installed?
-
0401
Im hoping its the bios i need to update so fix the problem :S
Ive been doing it using a floppy disc. I loads of local shops to get a floppy drive no where had one except one :S

I have a feeling you have the wrong bios.
Is your board the
P5N32-E SLI 680i?
or
P5N32-E SLI Plus
or
P5N32 SLI
Edit: Found it - version 505 here ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5N-E%20SLI
-
Its the
Asus P5N-E SLI 650I
And thats the version im trying to flash it to with no luck :(
-
Have you tried the old fashioned way with floppy drive and afudos etc?
Have you also tried leaving the cmos cleared for a couple of hours before you try and flash it?
-
Yea just tired leaving the cmos cleared.
How do i do it the old way ?
Or if anyone has an idea other then the bios being the problem ?
thanks
-
could it be a ram issue ?
-
How did you clear the cmos?
-
Battery and also the jumpers
Um i ran mem test and i got 290 errors :S
So i changed the ram timings to 5-5-5-15-2t im new to doing ram timings tho so hope thats rite, re ran the test got no errors.
This is getting anoying now, after a google search it seems like a common problem, even having a usb keybaord plugged in could cause the error :S
Really stuck

No idea about the usb keayboard, but do you have a ps2 keyboard that you can use to rule that out?
Have you entered the ram voltage correctly?
You need to post the full specs of your pc.

Core 2 Duo E6600
Asus P5N-E SLI 650I Motherboard
Corsair XMS6400 2GB
OCZ 600W PSU

Maxtor 320gb Sata Drive
