What to do - New cpu today

Ok well, a month ago I rma'ed my cpu. It had a fault and all the problems were reviewed and my rma was successful, unfortunately AMD didn't have my original cpu to replace it with so they upgraded me to a AMD X2 4600. Now It came today and I'm not sure whether to open it and use it. Or sell it. 939 cpu's are rare these days, X2 ones except for the 4200, but still. What should I do. If I sold my PC parts, Mobo, Ram, hdd's and this cpu I'd have enough to upgrade to a decent am2 setup. but i've got like £240 more on top of that to spend so.
    What do you guys recommend.

    Open it? or Sell it.

Sell the parts seperately (bundles dont fetch as much in my experience), the cpu should be good for £140/150 as theres still a lot of call from people wanting to upgrade there 939 systems. That would by you a c2d E6600 (unless you're an amd fanboy) and the money you have saved and the extra you get for your other parts would buy you a great mobo and DDR2 RAM prices are very low at the moment so 2gb should'nt be a problem !! Thats what i'd do personally !

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AMD-Athlon-64-...QQcmdZViewItem

For example, thats on e-bay as we speak !!

Whats better, list all items at once? or one by one. Theres ram, mobo, and cpu? i'd sell the hard drives too but i need to backup my stuff somewhere.

I think you will get closer to £100 if you were to sell it here...

Instead of selling, why don't you give it to your dear friend (me)

You might get a bit more selling seperatly, its a case of trial and error !! Most people on forums like the new shiny latest tech so you'd probably get more on flea bay ? That x2 4800 at well over £200 with 15 hours to go gives you an idea and you might get lucky ? Between the cpu and other parts and what you have saved you should get a great system !!

i would buuuuuuut, the amd stuff is cheaper. M2N-E SLI £60, alright thats near the DS3's price but still. X2 4800 am2 £84. it may not be soo much cheaper but i'll be able to use am3 cpu's. although by the time they come out ill have my student loan but a 4800 x2 will last me through the holidays , i wanna get the 65nm one, it has a lower tdp right?

Definately fleabay. See what the average selling price is for the AMD and do a buy it now with best offer at that price, by weekend someone will probably have offered you something close.

    Good luck selling that

But AM2 ? Meh your choice

(And BTW where is the M2N-E SLi for £60 ?)

    Edit: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/121169

^^ That one ? Doesn't have the funky heatpipes the standard M2N-E has though
