Getting there, that was 1.45 in the bios, I may have been able to go a bit higher at stock, but last night my pci-e decided to stick at 1x, and as i had already started that run, I left it going.

TAT will be back for the next one, it was giving me trouble last night, so I got rid, but I think it was the pci-e thing.

Yes, It was doing my nut in for a while last night. Checked cpu-z and the pci-e link width was at 1x, so went into the bios and set it the pci-e frequency to 110 and that cured it. Its odd though, never needed to mess with that before on this board.

It boots no problem at 400fsb, and right up to 440fsb, but not messed with it enough yet.

3dmark seems to be doing better though.

Ive been known to have a bright moment or 2, google is gr8 though

To stay on topic, might be thinking of gettin one of these Quad beasties, but as I mainly do gaming(So I wud want the best Fps etc) wud it be wiser to stay with my E6600? Sum reviews suggest its pointless unless ur doing loads of multitasking etc as games aren't enhanced/designed for such cores yet. But at the price its dropped to its just so darn tempting

an e4300 overclocked well would suffice your gaming till the dx10/next gen games come out, even still they would be no match for that e4300. but if you got the money go for it
the quad cores speed up stuff like compression/encoding and gaming, but mostly to do with encoding/video editing.

Btw just out of interest what games do you play

Battlefield 2 mainly (with a clan),NFS Carbon I just got(great for online 2), waiting on Quake Wars to come out, shud be good. Upgrading ye olde system cos im sure Quake Wars will be pretty hungry, thats y i was asking bout the Quads but seems C2D is still the way to go for gaming at the mo I guess. What games u play?
