Am of coarse looking at a E6600 Duo as the next part to of my (slowly getting there) new build...
For an extra (approx) £50 I can get a 6700, any one got one/think that it's worth tthe extra money???

i dont think its really worth "teh" extra presonally..
i hope you didnt intentionally say "teh" in that title lol :)
It depends on how rich you are.
£50 would probably be better invested in more ram, better graphics/psu/motherboard etc.
The performance gains won't be noticable for most real world stuff.
just overclock the e6600 is suppose to far surpass the e6700 even when the e6700 is overclocked aswell

This research is obviously extremely flawed as the chips could be from a certain batch which was particularly easy to overclock or vice versa. But I would never bu an e6700 when an e6700 can easily reach and surpass the speeds

The benefit of the E6700 is that it has a 10x multi and if your chip **did** turn out to be a good overclocker, then its possible you could go a bit higher than an E6600 as you wouldnt be stuck with the chipset strap change at 3.6ghz @ 401fsb, it would be @ 4.ghz instead.
