    Red face SATA Trouble

    Hello!
I recently built a new gaming machine. I bought a 320 gig SATA drive for the new system, my old system had two 120s on a raid 0. I decided to throw on my two 120s in the system. They are showing up in the BIOs and Hardware Manager in windows. But i cannot access them or do anything useful. Anyone got a clue what i can do, they have not been formatted sence they were pulled from the old system, so i think them being configured to a raid 0 causing issues. Any thought?

Raid 0 only works with two drives. You have to use them together otherwise you can't see any of your data.

If you don't mind losing all the data on your 120gb drive then you just need to create a new partition overwriting the old drive (use your win xp cd for this).

If I've read your post correctly, you've moved two RAID 0 drives from one machine to other. If you didn't configure the RAID controller properly when you did this, you've lost all your data.

Yeh I read incorrectly, I thought he said he wanted one 120gb... I need sleep

I have actually done this before - your new raid controller has to be compatible with the array made on the old controller...

(I went from nf3 to nf4 with no probs)

I forgot to put this in there. I did not want them raided together, I just want two 120 gig drivers, raid 0 has done nothing but cause issues, specially when it came time to move my data over.

Now, if i used my Windows XP CD to format them and create a partition, won't me computer ask me to boot from Windows XP Install or Windows XP every time it boots. I've seen that a few times, its very annoying.

Thanks for all the advise guys ^^
