    Question CL4 or CL5?

Am just looking at these two pairs of RAM sticks for my new build, only differance I can see is the CLatency - is it really worth paying another £30 for CL4???:

    http://www.dabs.com/compare.aspx?&ql...lectedId=11150

Btw My new build is a Gigabyte GA 965P-DS3P board, probably with a E6600 or E6700 duo.

    Thanks,

It doesn't make much difference to Core 2 Duo's.. but dabs..get it from a decent company

Cas4 is faster than cas5 and even cas3 in the tests I did. It isnt £25 faster, and chances are that the cas5 ram you mention will actually run at cas4 anyway.

I'd pay the £15 if it were me..and I would buy from scan. Dabs have no phone number so all customer service related issues are net based chat..and they are freakin numpties imo. Scan are always helpful whether they are on the phone or in the care forum here on Hexus.

I also use OCUK but they always get flamed on here.

i brought the best ram i could afford at the time, that was 3 years ago, and apart from adding another 1gb stick last year i will never regret buying the fastest i could afford, it future proofed me for a couple of years.

its only worth it if you can afford it

you can always arrange friday delivery and pop along and fetch it if the city link depot is within reach ?

a fiver in petrol is less than the special delivery charge !
