Are you thinking of buying 2 of them? If so, shop around, you can pick up a branded 2gb kit for around £70 with a lifetime warranty.

Really, was just thinking it was pretty spanking because it is running at 800mhz for that price. Not sure if that is even the best thing for the motherboard I am getting which runs at 1333 (n650i Asus)?

    Hmmmm.....

The 1333 thing just means that it can accept CPUs with an FSB of 1333mhz. To run those 1:1 will only require Pc2-5300 ram.

It's ok i guess..I don't really know much about the company and heat spreaders would be nice but they arent expensive.

Theres loads of pc6400 around for about £100 at the moment...It's useful for big overclocks but if you're not doing that then pc5300 is probably best.

It's no name stuff, but if it doesn't work you could return it. However the warranty is only 12 months (good branded RAM carries a lifetime guarantee) and you'd have to be careful about OC (good branded RAM has guarantees there too).

If you're going to run the RAM at no more than its stock and you're happy to go through the hassle of an RMA if it doesn't do the job in your mobo, then it's probably worth it.

I bought this for my girlfriend who has a simple 'just do it' pc. (x2 3800)

For my PC I wanted the assurance it wouldn't explode so opted for OCZ 2x1gb gold kit with lifetime warranty.

For the price you can't really go wrong though.

    Micron aren't exactly unbranded

But yeah, the warranty is very odd indeed - never seen memory without at least 10 yrs before.

Depends really. As someone said - the price of the more expensive stuff isn't massively more.

But you get a 12 months warranty anyway, and could overclock your processor a bit and still have it at 800mhz working fine. (which my girlfriend has, although someone advised me to increase the default volts to 1.9 at 800mhz so I did that... no real difference though)

Bear in mind though, that you need to use 64 bit Vista to get the benefit of 4 gigs.

Well as 2x1gb of CorsairTwinX XMS2 is £102, Id' actually say go for it if you're on a budget and on overclocking is involved.

While it's only 12months warranty I see no problem there, if you're running at stock setting and it's not broken down after 12months it's not likely to break down before it needs replaceing anyway.

In fact I've very tempted by this.

What would you recomend for Vista 32 bit? I thought that 4GB for £140, I could not go wrong!

I will be running an e6600, a 8800gts bfg and an asus 650i mobo.

Can you maybe point me to a good url. want to spend about £140 again on the best memory for that set up.

Not sure if I will be overclocking. Is there any point? I do not game loads (used to play a little CS) but I am getting into web design and picture editing, I watch HD movies and do tons of web browsing.

You will need Vista 64 bit to use the 4Gb, 32 bit only uses up to 3Gb
