    Firewire cable

I have the Akasa Mirage case which has a firewire port on the side. I also have an Asus P5B, but where do I plug in the firewire cable, on the mobo? Can you even do it?

    Cheers,
    Chris.

if your motherboard has it which I think it does..there will be a header block (like the usb ones) with IEEE 1394 or something similar writen near it probably.

Sounds like you're going to have to get a PCI card with firewire ports. You can usually get one with and internal header as well as standard ports on the card so as to hook up your cases port.

There a Scan branded one for under £6

It definately does have a firewire header, and you will find its exact location in the manual that comes with the board RTFM

Unless its a lesser model of P5B?

Yeah it's not the deluxe, it's this stupid one.

Its ok, just means I have to go into uni to get the footage onto the comp. Not too much of a problem but I'd rather have done it here. I'll just film the stuff I need today and go to uni tomorrow.

And btw I did RTFM But couldn't see it
