i'm struggling to get this chip to stay stable @2400, its stable @2304 at the moment, what could be holding me back?
system is:
K7S8XE
XP2600@2304 12x192fsb
Infineon 512mb pc2700@200
Thermaltake hsf
Ti4200@300/580
any ideas would be great, thanks

WHat is the voltage that youve got on the chip.
default is 1.7v but my mobo only lets me increase it by 5%, so 1.785v
i meant when you overclocked it, raising the voltage willhelp you get a better overclock.
not sure what you mean?
my board only lets you up the vcore voltage by 5% and that has taken it to 1.785v.
so its at 1.785v or is it still at 1.7
1.785v
well, then i guess you out of luck
thats helpful!
will changing the multiplier help or not?
yeah, if you increase it , it could help, but you may not be able to get it stable.
thanks.
i'll have a go.
Don't just increase the FSB. Higher chance of failure there, and could damage your hardware if it's not PCI locked. That RAM is certainly holding you back at higher FSBs.
Increase the multiplier by .5 at a time.

Iam with Howard... its your ram.. i would leave it at 2300mhz or get new ram pc3200 or higher
