well if you're going to start throwing money at it deffinatly just get a 939 motherboard and an x2 3800

Cheaper option FSP ATX-450PNF @ £47.78

Although it does depend on his graphics card as well, as that will push up the power need.

While the P4 D is a tad hungery esp on a 775 they are nice little chips.
