Whats he got atm ? Pentium Ds are pretty crap...
3 ghz celeron d 256kb l2 cache its pants
on a foxconn board
1gb ddr400 ram
samsung 200gb sata!
Ah, well you probably will see some improvement then :P That PD will probably do, look on ebay though for some cheap P4s / PDs as it's only for a while ?
Check the motherboard as well to see if it takes dual cores.
cheers for that!
anyone else got any opinions!
Make sure the mobo can support a Pentium D - not all can.
Also, check his PSU. Pentium D's are hungry, unforgiving beasts.
The board can support up to a pentiumD 940!
PSU i'll have to check on and get back to you about that!
you could get a cheap amd 939 motherboard and dual core 3800 for about £70 / £80
Its a 400W PSU so any thoughts on that?
Thank you for your continuing help!
look on the label on the side at the outputs on the 12V rails, let us know what they are and we'll tell u if it will be up to it.
or give us the brand / model and we can look it up :)
Just hope it isnt a Q-tec ;)
No but its probably as bad i think its one of these from maplins!

17A on 12V rails, not sure if that will be enough. might just about be ok.
Yup. What wattage is it?
Suffice to say all those are pretty poor though.
400W i think, ill have to check again sometime tomorrow!
