    Exclamation Micro Direct

Am looking at getting a E6600 Duo and 2GB of Corsair XMS 6400

    -£277 @ SCAN
    -£245 @ MicroDirect

    both are with Saturday delivery..

Not used either before and have heard Scan have great customer care, but for a £32 saving it is going to have to be Micro!

I'm lucky with Microdirect in that I live 10mins walk from the shop and even better if I buy stuff through the university network I get stuff even cheaper and same day delivery free!

I've bought everything from my current rig from them and throughly recommend them.

The things that scan have that are cheaper I've found pointless getting as the delivery is £7. For me at least it always works out cheaper, easier and quicker to buy from MD

I've always found the differnces between scan and MD small.
Normally I'd save a few quid on one bit but lose some on another.
Also one might have it in stock and the other not or have the same thing by a differnt make.
I find I prefure Scan's site for searching for stuff as they break bit down into performance/model before price and make.

Be aware that MicroDirect have a RMA policy of:

If its more then 30 days from delivery of good, they will take 30 WORKING DAYS to get a replacement to you from the date that they agree the goods are faulty.

I had an X1900XTX from them die on me, 6 weeks later I got a replacement that lasted 5 weeks, I then had to jump through hoops for another 6 WEEKS before they finally refunded me due to not being able to get another replacement.

So, be warned about their RMA process, its the pits.
