Could anyone direct me to a good online guide to updating the BIOS on my NF7-S? I've never done it before so fairly basic is good!
Thanks in advance,
Tom

How to update / flash your bios
At post, you can press Alt+F2 to access an automatic bios flashing program. The program itself is fairly simplistic and loads the new bios file from a floppy drive and then reboots. This system is pretty much fool-proof, and I recommend that everyone use it! The big downside to this is that it requires a floppy drive. The procedure is as follows:
1. Turn off the system, and insert a floppy disk with the new bios file and awdflashe.exe on it.
2. Turn the system on, and press and alt+f2 when prompted to on the post screen.
3. The awdflash.exe executable on the floppy will run. It will automatically load the new bios file from the floppy drive, you don't have to touch anything. The system will reboot after it is finished.
The other accepted method of bios flashing is to use awdflash.exe which is attached to most bios downloads. If you don't have a copy, you can grab it here. The flashing method:
1. Create a bootable media that will boot into dos (such as a bootable floppy, removable storage/usb disk, cd-rom, etc) and put awdflash.exe and the new bios file on it, along with a version of dos. Do not attempt this from windows!
2. Boot from the media and type "awdflash.exe"
3. A menu will pop up asking for the bios file name, and will ask some simple questions. Go ahead and make the proper selections here.
4. As soon as the bios has successfully updated, restart the system.

Just use Abits Flashmenu from windows.
It'll download, and update your BIOS with one press of a button, no need to mess about :)
If you do kill it though, i can reflash it for you without a problem :)
Goto:
http://fae.abit.com.tw/eng/download/...ashMenu132.exe
Download tha latest flash menu, install, connect to the net, run flashmenu, (click) one click liveupdate :)
et voila...
Easy bios flashing Abit style :)
just aslong as windows doesnt crap itself :) the only bios updates i've done are via either bootdisk or alt+f2, and they were sketchy enough heh i dont want to throw Windows into the equation aswell :)

hmm bad news for thursday, need to bios flash the asus i'll be getting, anyone have any information about the asus nf2 board, as everyone always raves about the abit one ? :)
Dont worry about windows flashing, just dont have anything unnecessary running ie defragger, SETI or anything CPU instensive.
You'll be fine...
Much easier than the bootdisk method :)
