    that ram was probably the best part of 200 quid in its day, not compairing it to that ****e ddr2 your chatting about

    and on 939 systems you dont get the choice of ddr/ddr2 so keep your trap shut

    whatever mate. at the end of the day thats still some of the best ram you can buy for a ddr system

    Yeah, DDR2 prices are only down due to the number of people buying it.... DDR is now quite expensive again, you can't compare the two. That XMS platinum still gets around 2/3 its list price on EBay.

    Remember how slow ddr2 was when it came out compared to vanilla ddr? It took over a year for ddr2 to catch up, right? Will ddr3 be slow compared to ddr2 in a similar way when it comes out?

    I think it might !! The first of the new Intel chipsets have the ability to run DDR2 and DDR3 apparantly so you might see some boards (you can still buy Asrocks that you can choose DDR or DDR2) that give you a choice of DDR2 or DDR3, from what i've read its the enthusiast versions aimed for the end of the year onwards that will be DDR3 only !!
