    external hard drive help please!

I've got an ASUS G1 Gaming laptop which I use for both gaming and work, I want to buy an external HDD and I've been looking at some Seagate Barracuda 3.5" 320GB SATAII 7200.10 16MB cache drives with CoolerMaster X-Craft enclosures. My only problem is my laptop doesn't have eSATA support, so do I go with the SATAII HDD and use USB 2.0 connection or do I use the PATA version and use Firewire connection? Which would run faster overall?

    HELP PLEASE!

    Thanks in advance...

You can buy a 1 or 2 port eSATA Express Card for your laptop then buy one with eSATA, or just get a USB2.0 harddrive which saves you all the trouble, not to mention being cheaper.

Since you are using a laptop, eSATA, Firewire and USB will give you the same speed if you're copying to/from the internal harddrive of your laptop (the internal drive is slower than the interface.
