    The D5 is Nominal current (@ 12 V) 2 amps , It wud be nice to have a decent amount of headroom as I think the Amps are higher as it starts so Ive read.

    Well the page you linked to states a power consumption of the D5 to be up to 23W, using the formula I = P/V, 23W/12V = 1.9167A (rounded up), so 5A is gonna be a *lot* of headroom.

    That D5 is a superb pump. I have noticed that the temps stay pretty much the same be it on the highest or lowest setting. My rig is pretty small though; only the CPU & GPU get cooled so that might be why the lowest setting has similar temps to the highest one.

    On the lowest setting it is more or less silent. You won't hear it when your working on your pc. On the highest setting there is just a nice sounding hum coming from it, but not intrusive like a fan hum. Real quality pump that and made from derlin to

    Yeah it was between the D5 and Laing DDC 18w, but from what Ive read the D5 seems to be just a bit more realiable. Also, like u, I will ony have CPU and GPU for now on WC so I can turn it down and it wud be nearlly silent. I think u get more effect if u turn the fans up on the Rad rather than turning up the pump, but u dont really need it with a PA120.3

    Oh yea, I almost forgot, if you're getting the 5A unit it would be worth your while getting a connector like this:
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?...o=1406&doy=2m5

    It'll save you butchering the cable on your new 30 squid power unit lol.

    I'm not sure if that particular connector is right, or maybe something along the lines of this would be cleaner:

    Yeah ill defo be getting this 1 http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?...y=2m5#overview ,I even phoned em up to make sure it wud work lol not that I had doubts but im a paranoid s.o.b.
    With those connectors not really sure how that wud connect to a 4-pin power supply dongle? I'm not too bothered about cuttin the end off and just connecting it to a power dongle, and wrapping it up in some insulating tape, wudnt that be the easiest?

    Well if you get this to go with the power unit:
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?...y=2m5#overview

    Then it would just be a matter of clipping off a Molex male connector, keeping a good lenght of the 4 wires, bend away the yellow (positive) and neighbouring black (ground) wires, cut off the other two, then slide the DC socket sleave down the two wires, connect the black wire to the outer pin of the socket, yellow to the inner pin of the socket, use a dab of solder if needs be, make sure there's no shortage, pull the sleve back up to socket, tighten, plug everything in, and the pump should start working away. Keep your reservoir filled with distilled water until all the bubbles filter out of the tubing and blocks before and during pumping.

    Btw, is it the 2.5mm socket I need or the 2.1mm socket? Do i just need 1?

    As long as it fits any of the male connectors that come with the DC unit fit together with it, it'll work, I figured that the 2.5mm socket would more likely accommodate the 2 wires of the molex connector. This is what I mean about jerry-rigging (aka bodge) the wiring together btw

    I think it slowly sinking in, its hard sometimes to fathom these things without seeing it for real. But I think I gotcha now

    Yeah, so basically you'll end up with something like this:

    5A DC unit->male DC connector(whichever fits female)->2.5mm female DC socket->yellow/black pair->Molex connector->pump.

    Yip, just checked the connectors it came with and it comes with a 2.1mm and a 2.5mm. But like u said the 2.5mm wud be best. Just a thought, arent the connectors it comes with female cos they have a hole? Ignore this if its ridiculous as Im probably gettin mixed up
