Must admit i'm not a great fan of the heatpipe fad that virtually every mobo manufacturer is touting at the minute, but it's now gone a stage further:-

I guess its either marketing (like the fake heatpipes on some Asus boards) or they are elongating the pipes for better heat dissipation.

Well i guess you could hang them somewhere, with hoops like that.

Yes they do have a pythonesque feel.

Maybe 4 the deluxe version(+an extra £10) a flashing led in the middle with the corporate logo, very tasteful

i dont think the design will actually give better cooling, but there's a lot of metal there which is always good for temps, but like others have said, if you really want good cooling the first thing you'll do is take that off and swap it for water or something chunky from thermalright.

I think heatpipes look pretty sweet. If they're better than heatsinks but without the hassle (though greater cooling capacity too) of water or peltier etc. then it's a good idea in my opinion.
