    Unhappy sata and broadband help!!!!!

Having probs getting my mates pc going, trying to install a 'western digital raptor' sata drive. All goes well installing XP and the service pack but when we try to install the BT Broadband modem drivers it all goes wrong!! The installation looks at system to see if requirements are met and comes back he is running windows 3.1 with a 33mhz cpu and 1mb ram!!!!!!!!
    AAAAHHHHHH!!!!
Here is a run down of what he IS running.
Asus p4p8x motherboard, P4 3gb cpu , 2x512 mb of samsung ddr ram.
When we put his old h/drive back in it works fine, I have had a look at his settings in bios and all is well!
    PLEASE HELP!!
    cheers

    colin

format, and reinstall the OS. Then check all the settings in the BIOS. Then get the newest drivers, (do know if you can download them and stick them on CD.)

are there some newer bt modem drivers - perhaps he is trying to install the wrong ones or something? unless he's lying and he does only have windows 3.1 with a 33mhz cpu

I still fail to see why people cannot use the correct terminology, it makes life so much harder. GHz would be the correct accronym

Possibly because not everyone is aware of the correct terminology, or made a typo. You know what he meant, I don't see the sense in pointing it out.... unfortunately not all of us have reached perfection yet.
