    120mm Fans

Ok i need a new case fan and i was thinking of either the sharkoon 2000 golfball one or the NMB-MAT RB-12025-L
    from dorothy bradbury.

Which one do you guys recommend?

I'm like you wanted something quiet but that can aslo be revved up if needed.

Sharkies are good for the price. Yates and Nexus both make some very nice quiet fans.

In my experience NMB-MAT's can actually be very noisy at stock though, while Nexus fans don't tend to be.

I bout 4 Akasa ambers for an enclosure box to house some electrical equipment in the loft, it keeps them really chilly, not loud either.

What about the thermally-controlled Antec SmartCool - is it any good? G

Good, perhaps. But if you're after silence ignore stuff like that. Antec don't make high quality low noise fans(the skinny tri-cools are OK on their lowest setting, but they're nothing special). Same goes for Akasa, they make ok quiet fans, but nothing special.

AFAIK the Antec are not in the same league as the Yate Loons.

The Antec tend to be Ball Bearing which are noisier than the Yate Loons.
