Which Netgear Router
I am looking at a replacement Router for a dead DG834PN (RangeMax MIMO-G) for use with a Samsung laptop with built in Centrino.
Do I go for another DG834PN or should I go for :
DG834G (54Mbps)
DG834GT (108Mbps)
are any of them any more reliable than my current Rangemax model? I'm more interested in reliability than speed or increased range.
I'd appreciate some advice.

Out of the two, DG834G, IEEE 802.11g is more mature and stable, as well as a fully ratified standard. I've never used the rangemax, so I can't comment on it.

Just over a year of trouble free DG834GT usage here.

DG834G here. Rock solid performance and excellent for long DSL lines like mine using DSL Max. (I only got 500k d/l with the Vigor now @ 2.7mb)
Pretty basic functionality though compared with my Linksys DD-WRT router, or the Vigor I used to have.

Got the DG834G and haven't had any problems at all, so I think it's pretty reliable.

The new DG834N is pretty spanking. I've put a couple out there and they work beautifully. The install CD didn't work with Vista, but you can use the web configuration.
Likewise, the DG834GT is pretty solid too. I haven't had any major problems with the PN (like the one you had die) though, so worth getting another. I trust you aren't able to get it replaced under warranty?

i have the dg834gt and it is the second one i have owned the first one was faulty from time of purchace the wireless refused to remain connected for more than 2 mins at a time before dropping, the second one i got was because i got a great deal on the price and some free extras with it that i needed anyway and the new one functioned supremely better but still suffers from occational dropouts, however on both units the hardwired ethernet connections were always excelent.

That's because 802.11n is a draft standard and not everything works correctly, or anywhere near the intended performance. The DG834G is rock solid, I had mine running for 3 years straight with no problems at all, until my server banged into it and crushed it. :/

I've had 3 netgears die in under 2 years, and I wont do it again.
/leaves, mumbling about the importance of uber stable connections in gaming, and Draktek making the finest :) called Vigors

i would go with the dg834n, i've had all the dg834 range and would say that or the gt is best
