    Question Barton 2500+ overclocking

    Can anyone tell me if my barton 2500+ is a good overclocker or has its mulitiplier locked.

    Well by the looks of things you have a week 47 which is most likely multiplier locked, you should be able to FSB clock it tho (as long as you have a good MB, Ram etc).

    An Abit NF7-S should be able to reach 200FSB (ie 3200+ speeds - 2.2Ghz), but it depends on the chip - all you can do is try.

    It's going to be locked but there are ways and means of unlocking it www.athlon-unlock.co.uk will have a guide up soon the webmaster assures me

    Can probably get 210 FSB out of it with those parts. Pity its locked though

    Cant build it outside cause psu comes with case. This is what im going to build when all parts come

    Zorro black case with 450W psu
    Abit NF7 v2.0
    Barton 2500+
    Coolmasters Aero 7+/Artic silver 5
    512mb Twinmos Twister pc3200 cl2
    Maxtor max 9 80gb ata133 8mb cache hard drive
    Sapphire ati 9600xt
    Msi 52x32x52 cd rewriter
    Windows Xp
