Proposed buget upgrade spec, any thoughts?

Hi, i'm about to upgrade my s939 system to core 2 duo

I just woundered if there was anyhing in the spec that should be improved

Budget is about £200

I'm keeping my current gfx card a 6800gt until a good mid range dx10 card comes out

Spec's are

E4300
Gigabyte GA 965P-S3
2Gb (2X1Gb) Corsair Value Select, DDR2 PC5300 (667) CAS 5-5-5-15

Any improvements I should make?

I assume the 6800GT is PCI-E? Do you have a good CPU Heatsink/Fan?

If you buy from eBuyer, you'll get the CPU & memory for £10 less each using GC (make separate orders), & free delivery for both at the moment.

As you're probably eligible for their free delivery, Scan for the GA 965P-S3 (unavailable at eBuyer). And if required, get a better cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro ~£12, while you're there.

Yes it's a pcie 6800 gt but it'l do above ultra clocks

Yes, & you cannot go wrong for only £12.

Of course, there are better coolers out there, but the Arctic 7 is one of the best for people on a budget. G

You probably mean a E6300? I'm not sure, but if you go for the better CPU you'll be slightly better off with a E6320 (double the L2 cache) - it's only £1-2 more than the former. G

E4400 has a multiplier of 10, so should be even easier to overclock

Apparently the Gigabyte GA 965P-DS3P (link is for the cheapest I could find in stock) may be the better overclocker - read these:

Only trouble is that it'll take it over your budget. G

In reviews, the 965p-s3 has reached 500mhz base clock, this is more than I would need wit a 4400, you'd only need base clock that high with a low cpu multipler
