Can someone please let me know which of these three is the 'best' overclocker. Or, are all of them basically the same in this regard? I'm confused with the similar names/specs . G

DS3 is a better overclocker than the S3 as I've read from these very forums, and DS3P is somewhat identical to DS3 with some niggles sorted out, so I'd say DS3P.
I think the only diff between the ds3 and the ds3p is the firewire support.
The DS4 has Silent-Pipe cooling for chipsets so I guess you could argue this would allow you to push further than the DS3s although I dont think it makes a lot of difference.
I bought the DS4 because I needed the firewire support and the DS3p wasnt out then.
Oh and be careful buying mobos from Scan as they cannot guarantee the revision and you could well end up with a v1.0 rather than a more recent version.(speaking from experience of buying ds4 and ds3p)
Thanks guys - that's very helpful.
It's a bit of a shame that Scan cannot guarantee their revision numbers. Which retailer(s) does this though? G
The DS3P is a very much a diff beast to the DS3, apart from firewire it gots the ICH8R raid controller, 6 phase VRM and better on board sound. The DS3P is exactly the same board as the DS4 but without all the heatpipe stuff but both the DS3P and DS4 are diff to the DS3.
Thanks IAmATeaf. I notice you have a rev2.0 board - where did you get it from please? G
I originally placed an order with Scan but had some problems with it being in stock/not being in stock so cancelled and order from Dabs in the end, think mine came to £81 inc when scan had it for around £92 but the price of the mobo has come down since.
DS3 and S3 are the same boards but DS3 uses all solid capacitors and has ever so slightly better sound I think.
Doesn't the DS3P have SLi ?
Main - Intel Core i5 2300 @ 3.5GHz, 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM, Asus P8P67 Pro, Coolermaster iGreen 600w, GTX 480, Antec One Case
It has Crossfire according to the specs. G
