be interesting as I'm sure lots of people would love to stick a cheap C2D chip into their existing AM2 rigs...

I had my new dishwasher delivered on Sunday. Went and looked in the back of the van. The two guys in the van had unwrapped my new dishwasher, and they were standing on it whilst they looked for something else.

When the two guys saw me, watching them, STANDING on my new dishwasher, they simply said that a mistake had been made and they would take it back to the depot. It gave me a whole new view abut what shops mean by 'open box' stuff, though.

    Before you ask, Dixons.

    Ok, inform me then....
You quoted IAmATeaf when he said
He'd have problems getting his E4300 to fit that board wouldn't he?
At which point you quoted a section of RedLight's post, a post which includes this line...
Now, and this is the biggy, that link goes to the Misco website and an AM2 mother board..

So, back to my original post, unless of course you cant actually read or type properly and my original semi humourous post is completely lost on you...

My first post was to the OP in reference to the foxconn, £8 cheaper as per link.

My next post was to clarify that, "He wouldn't" meaning the op would not.

I have actually owned the foxconn, fitting a c2d/allendale whatever in it is beyond my remit

    Informed yet?

Yes and I finished my post with why, the OP would have zero problems, as that was why I originally posted.

Would that be a am2 saddle or a c2d? Move on from what?

And now your changing the issue, fact is in your post you
were suggesting that the E4300 would fit in an AM2 board.

Not in the post I quoted you didnt, you said that he wouldnt have any problems fitting said chip into said board.
Why not just admit that your post was wrong and carry on contributing to the thread in a useful way instead of trying to worm your way out of the fact that you made a mistake in the post?!

Stop arguing and get on point maybe ?? Come on guys...

    Anywho, personally I'd get:

    X2 3600 £40 delivered from ebuyer

Abit NF M2 nView £40 delivered from scan

Coolermaster IGreen 430w PSU £31 delivered from ebuyer

    2GB 667 RAM from ebuyer at ~ £27 per 1GB delivered

7600GT ~ £55 delivered from ebuyer or aria (unless you REALLY want DX10, then go for an 8600GT/GTS for gaming and an 8500GT for office work, the lower 8 series is overpriced and underperforming imo though)

Asus mATX TM982 case from scan £25 delivered

DVDRW ~ £20 from anywhere (go SATA)

Your choice of software/HDD (reccomend 160/250GB and XP )

Note: Prices from Aria/Ebuyer include the google checkout offer
    Main - Intel Core i5 2300 @ 3.5GHz, 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM, Asus P8P67 Pro, Coolermaster iGreen 600w, GTX 480, Antec One Case

From your post, the one you quoted here, there is a link to a board, that board is an AM2 board, the E4300 is an Intel S775 chip so wouldnt fit, so your comment in saying that "He wouldnt" in reference him having trouble fitting said chip in said board is wrong, he would, how can you fit a S775 chip into an AM2 board, that was my original question based on your post, the one I quoted, the one you just quoted..

I fail to see what you cannot
So neither of us can see it then?
Anyways, back to the original post as it would appear you cant see where you made a mistake and trying to get you to see it is similar to expecting you to make sence if the last comment is much to go by..
