price check athlon xp base unit

NEC powermate base unit old style Monitor sits on top (not tower style)

    has inside
amd athlon xp2600 1.9ghz (i think thats the right speed)
256 mb ram not sure of speed or timings tbh
via onboards graphics 64mb + 64mb that it steals from the ram

    40gb hdd
    1x cd rewriter drive
1xcd drive both around the 40x speed mark

win xp pro COA on the side

hard drive would be wiped clean for you to install your own version of xp pro the code is usable would need a phone call to activate it

    any ideas on a price

was also thinking of upping the ram to 512-1gb and putting a 16x dvd rw in it and taking the cd drive out

gimme a price as is plus what you think it would be worth with the extras

I think it'd be worth around £80 with the DVD and extra RAM in.

IMO around £60 at the moment.

Have you poked around ebay to get prices on a similar machine? It's usually a good source for used gear.

I'd be tempted to make into a HTPC with a half decent case and a gig of ram, it'll make a nice cheap media machine, unless you are planning on running massively high resolutions

i already got my main pc plus the missus has a laptop plus in the process of modding my xbox into a media centre
so its just not needed plus if i sell it i can get some cash for some more bits for this pc

i hate ebay for prices as they are generally over inflated and as i got it for free i'd rather take less for it and know it went to a good home for one of our hexusites

already got another 512mb ram coming so prob gonna list it on here with 768mb ram and dvd rw

only downside is its cream and the dvd rw drive i have is silver
