yeah can't see why not. the quadgt doesn't seem to be that picky about ram
It will work, but you wont see much of a performance increase over lesser ram.
Various users on the OcUK forums are reporting issues with OCZ RAM in that board. GeIL, Patriot and Crucial Ballistix are known to work fine.
Or for that matter Corsair. TBH I got higher clocking ram & there indeed is very little difference if any in speed between that & a couple of CAD workstaions i've specced out with that board & Corsair PC6400.
Corsair PC6400 works fine for me :)
it's not a great mobo for hitting very high RAM clocks (probably due to the 1066 strap/timings) & with current BIOS it's unlikely that you'll get 1150MHz so paying for it would seem a bit of a waste ...
how about the 8500 reaper ocz ram, would the moboard be able to getthe rams full potential out of that?
Simple answwer is I don't know as I can't recall ever seeing anyone running that combo.
the QuadGT typically tops out somewhere ~DDR2 1100 though iirc.
if your going to buy top line mem and from OCUK go with
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MY-093-CR
or even
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MY-088-CR
these are still good for over 1000mhz when tweaked.
