    Good Mousepad for Laser Mice????

I have replaced my keyboard & optical mouse for a new Logitech MX3000 set. I have a number of different mouse pads going back through the ages.- all great with old roller ball mice, and some OK with Optical mice. Naff with Laser mice.

    What do you recommend?
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

I use an Icemat v2. It works perfectly with my MX1000, but normal infra red optical mice don't seem to work on it.

I just use a crappy old thing I got from somewhere, sometime. But it seems perfect for this optical mouse.

I like it because I found on cloth mouse mats, the mouse moved a bit slower and I had to use more force to move it. And for games (especially shooters), its good to be able to move the mouse nice and fast and smooth. So this mat I have is basically a piece of rubber with a plastic coated surface. Its ideal, because the plastic isn't perfectly smooth, so the optical mouse doesn't skip a bit when you move it fast.

The only problem is that its round, and I want a square one. It also has tea stains and stuff.

I have an icemat v2, and its fine, apart from the scratcheyness.

Edit: the box for the icemat makes an excellent stand for using a laptop in bed without it overheating.

Everglide Clear Mat, Logi G7 Mouse, Teflon pads. Perfect.

I was using the desktop but constant use was wearing out the laminate.

When you get whupped by [51st BBF]Slippery in CoD 2 that's what I was using.

Got a question for you mouse mat experts out there.
    Icemat's are glass right?
What would be the best colour to use if one was making a glass mouse mat?

(Yes i'm in the process of experimenting)

    Not red

Seriously, texture is more important than colour - so choose which ever colours will look the most textured under red light.
