logitech MX revolution owners ( i used to have a G7)

morning, just got my reply from logitech who agree my mouse is on its way out, they have stopped making the G7 for some reason and have said they dont mind sending a MX revolution instead.

anyone with one that used to own a G7..

what do you think to it compared to the G7 ?

    thanks.

I have an MX revolution and an MX700, the revolution as a fantastic mouse, maybe not the best for gaming, but for overall use excellent. The scroll wheel is awsome, i cant go back to 'standard' scroll wheels now, the are soo slooow. It's expensive for what it is but if you use your PC alot then id say go for it.

No where I've tried is stocking or expects to stock the G7, Scan have completely removed it from their site. So I doubt theirs going to be many around at all.

I've managed to get a hold of a second hand G7 to replace my MX700 but I've got a new MX revolution on it's way aswell.

Haven't got of used a G7, but I'm blown away by the MX Revo. It's by far and away better than any mouse I've ever laid my hands on. Had an MX900 previously, and it feels awful using my old MX500 at work.

You don't appreciate some of the subtle features of the Revo until you use one of the devices it replaced.

Just a quick question about the MX revolution, does the scroll-wheel have a jog-dial type of motion? Or is it completely smooth?

It's got both, you can slowly click it to through each bump but if you scroll more vigourously it will go freewheel so I've read

Should be testing it out by this weekend

push down click on the wheel changes it from notched to smooth scroll.

Smooth scroll is good, if a little over quick.

Me, I have two MX's and a spare on the shelf i need to shift.

Can you tell I like them
Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net

I had the Revolution but it was not comfortable for gaming at all so i picked up a MX1000 aswell and that was a better gaming solution.

The Revolution is great but just too cumbersome for playing fast paced games

its here, its charged, its heavy !

took a good hour to get used to it over the G7, overall its ok, not as high DPI as i would like (24" monitor)

the flip wheel on the side is a bit of a waste to me, its now set as zoom, but its being wasted as that as well. total shame you cant assign keystrokes to that command like you can the rest of the mouse !

overall quite happy so long as the battery holds a days charge

I've been using a G7 for a while, switched to a Revolution and started to get shooting pains in my wrists. Went back to the G7.

I've managed to get my grubby mitts on both a G7 and an MX so I'm going to abuse them both and see which I prefer.

So far the G7 feels more comfortable but then it's almost identical to the MX700 so no surprise there. But the MX feels much better for using excel and word etc and general browsing.
