cid pop plague

Hi, suffered from pops starting cid highest levels would not stop them found it was microsoft doing it through microsoft messenger plus you have to remove the advertising sponsor yourself. before i found this i asked microsoft several times for help and got nothing.
in the past we ask for downloads, is this the start of getting advertising unless we ask not to get it, i was amazed symantec who secure my box advertise there!!!! anything else i should know about?

Go and get HijackThis to help you get rid of it, Make sure you sort out your firewall and windows patches after you get rid and keep up to date and stop going and downloading stuff from dodgy places ;p
