OK, I have got my new Core 2 Duo E6600 and the h/sink has come with 3 grey strips of paste already on it, should I remove this pre-applied stuff and put my own thermal paste back on??
I have bought some nice Coolermaster compound to put on it.:)

i dont know how much difference it will make....
but i don't see why you shouldn't
yeah - AS5 is by far the best compund to use for helping transfer the heat
Well it's not the best, but it's damn good :P
yep, coolermaster ones just have a larger tube for the same price, it does its job. its handy if you mess up and need some more paste. although the arctic silver is tiny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i've already bought it now but not yet used it :P
coollaboratory liquid pro, beats arctic silver by a few C, maybe 2 or 3 if i remember and its roughly the same price, plus it can be used on more cpus. although if you plan to sell your cpu then some people advise not to use it as it will react with the cpu hs and seep into the hs and stuff. but hey if your lapping your cpu you could probably use it.
